July 6
Rode over Togwotee Pass into Grand Teton NP on Friday - not a bad way to celebrate the 4th! Brian Remlinger, one of our starting group who lives in Jackson Hole was following my blue dot and came to cheer me on - pretty cool! (Brian had to pull out in the Great Divide Basin with Achilles problems.) Rode around Jackson Lake and on into Idaho to Ashton later on Friday.
Yesterday I rode from Ashton through
Islsnd Park to Lima MT - really long day - 131 miles - AND BACK HOME IN MT! I discovers that on 4th of July weehend, Island Park is the ATV CAPITOL OF THE WORKD!
1876 miles done and 835 to go.
25 Continental Divide crossings done and 5 to go.
On to Polaris today and Butte tomorrow. Hoping to come through Whitefish next Friday!
I figure you crossed into our great state at about 3 yesterday. HOORAY, Tim! In 6 days you will be in Whitefish?! Just points out the immensity of Montana, 4th largest state (44th in population). Can't wait to hear the stories. natalie
